Chiasson has good value at about a 900K contract.
Suter I am on the fence with, he should be about $2.5M per, but I think he can do better elsewhere and will.
The rest can go find a new home.

Bless you, as always brother. I tend to agree. I’d like to see if Pysk can get going. I feel stronger about young players though. Want to watch Mazur and Edvinsson and see what the summer did (put on muscle, etc)

I don’t see a lot of room for any of these players.
Maybe a two way contract for Chaison, Suter at a lower number. I would look hard at bringing up 2-3 of the kids and add some tougher players like Killorn and Gudas. Hill would make a nice addition between the pipes.

Suter - meh. Decent player but just creates a logjam
Erne - useless bum. Get him outta here
Chiasson - cheap depth. Keep him depending on the vet limitations in GR
Oesterle - fringe NHLer. Need to upgrade the D
Hagg - see above
Pysyk - see above
Hellberg - not an NHL goalie. Bye
Ned - inconsistent and need’s opportunity elsewhere. Bye

Really I prefer to stay out of UFA entirely outside of backup goalie unless Severson is willing to sign a deal that’s too good to be true. Trade market should be explored.

RD trade options I see floated as possibilities: Petry, Ceci, Addison

Why trade Hronek and still need RD options? Drafting one is a gamble and takes time if you can grab one likely way out of order.

Anyway, what’s the rebuild thinking on this with those extra draft picks that were acquired.

Top 4 sure. 2nd pair guys that are solid but not good enough to be part of your long term core? No.

Hell no to these 2, they both suck. Haven't watched Addison in the NHL so i don't know about him.

UFA RDs, the only two i would have interest in are Schenn and Gudas. Rest will be overpaid or are not that good.

I have no problem letting go of all the Wings UFAs. Would also look to add Lucic for a 4th line role for cheap. Aside from him, Gudas and Schenn, i don't think there is much there on the UFA market for the Wings. Maybe if Perron can convince O'Reilly and/or Tarasenko to sign 1 or 2 year deals for cheaper, i could be ok with that but i wouldn't go out of my way to make that happen.

If Chiarot could be moved for Petry, I would be OK with that.Move Linstrom and a 4th for Addison.

The irony of saying Petry and Ceci suck while advocating for Schenn and Gudas…

Petry is probably a good pickup if the price is right. I wouldn't touch Ceci with a 10-foot pole, but he might be a decent add for Detroit at this place in their plan. Problem is, Ceci on his average day is just above replacement level. You could probably find somebody in your current pipeline to do it at league minimum.

Schenn isn't terrible, but you don't want him on your first or second pair. Gudas is a dirty wiener, but his beard is consistently bushy.

I like Chiasson as veteran depth. He's really good in front of the net on the PP but I feel like somebody else should be able to figure out how to do that and also be a little bit better at 5-on-5 to boot, right? I do wonder if he'd be a waiver casualty if he doesn't make the opening night roster, but oh well I guess.

Suter is a really really good PKer but pretty mediocre otherwise. Comes down to cost for me. If it comes in under $3m I'd say that's good value. If he wants a raise and can get it elsewhere, I'd probably let him.

Erne I'm probably not interested in at any price. Less useful than Chiasson, think we can do better for the opening night roster, think we can do better with the limited number of vets we get to stash in GR.

Everybody else I'm entirely indifferent about. If we're going to retain one of our current fringe NHL defenseman, maybe choose Oesterle since he can play both sides. But all of them are extremely replaceable, and the D overall needs a lot of work.

Bad idea voicing your opinion let alone disagreeing with Feds92Stammer.
If you want to talk hockey you have to stay away from him because he has a very fragile God complex - that is unless you’re going to agree with him on whatever opinion he has.
How dare people voice their opinions and want to talk hockey!!!! 🤣

I like the idea of Gudas, Hathaway, Schenn or Chiasson as depth grinder type options.
Not signing all of them just a group of names that is agreeable to.
Domi is someone I mentioned before because he can play 2nd or 3rd line centre, easily slots over as a winger if Kasper develops quicker and has the elements of a grinder type.
O’Reilly would be a cool add but I think he is chasing cups still so probably wouldn’t sign short term in Detroit. My opinion of course.
This team drastically needs to get meaner and or harder to play against. Playoff hockey is a grind.

Both Schenn and Gudas would add something the Wings need. Defense, toughness, hard hitting guys that can PK. Petry is an overpriced aging and declining vet that is injury prone. Ceci is just horrible and not good at offense, defense, physicality or toughness. He would bring nothing to the Wings that Lindstrom can't do for way cheaper.

Why do you think both those teams would likely love to get rid of Petry and Ceci?...it ain't because they are great and worth their contracts.

If i disagree with someone, i have no problem saying so no matter who it is. I stated my reasons for not agreeing with him in my reply.

Main reasons i mentioned O'Reilly and Tarasenko is because of Perron and Yzerman does seem to like Blues players. Maybe you form a O'Reilly, Perron and Tarasenko Blues line and finally have a decent 2nd scoring line...might be worth a shot if they are willing to sign short term. I wouldn't go out of my way to make this happen or sign either to long term or big money contracts though.

I do kind of want Lucic though. It has been way too long since the Wings have had someone in the bottom 6 that hits like a truck and can more than hold his own in a scrap with anyone in the league. Unlike Reaves, Lucic at one point in his career was a top 6 power forward so he did have some skills even if he isn't that player anymore.

Chiasson I'd keep .. the rest see you... Gudas, Schenn would be targets.. and I wouldn't mind seeing Lucic as well.. this team needs grit, sandpaper and downright mean players to flip the script which is to run the Wings out of the building.... Suter can go anywhere else please... and Helberg is at best a minor league goaltender... Erne, hard pass...
